Privacy Policy

This policy covers StockCounts.com and the StockCounts Android app, provided by Bino Solutions. It will also cover a future StockCounts iOS app if that app links to this policy.

The short version

No account is needed. Stock counts and files are processed on your device. The app only shares file content when you choose to export, back up, or use optional online Smart mapping as described below.

Your stock counts and files

• The website's barcode stock counter saves your count in your browser's local storage on your device, so it is still there when you come back. We cannot access these saved counts.
• Clearing your browser's site data, or closing a private browsing window, removes the saved count. Download a CSV if you want to keep a copy.
• Website templates, spreadsheets, and reports are generated in your browser. Files you open in the checkers and reviewers are read on your device and are not uploaded.
• The Android app stores counts and imported data locally until you delete them. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes its local data. Automatic cloud backup is disabled.
• App exports and backups go to the app or destination you choose. Backups are not password-protected. Copies you save or share remain there until you delete them separately.

Camera access

If you choose to scan with your camera, your browser or app asks for permission first. Camera images are processed on your device to read barcodes and are not recorded or uploaded. You can turn camera access off in your browser or device settings.

Optional Smart mapping

Where available, online Smart mapping asks for permission before sending column names, up to two visible sample rows, file format, and language to a StockCounts service over HTTPS to suggest import fields. It does not upload your full file. The service processes the preview without saving it or logging its contents. You can turn Smart mapping off and map fields manually.

Cookies and analytics

If you allow analytics cookies, StockCounts.com uses Google Analytics to understand page visits, engagement, tool use, generated downloads, and clicks to app stores or Mobile Inventory. Google receives usage events, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers. We do not send your barcodes, stock quantities, product names, uploaded files, filenames, or form contents to Google Analytics. Page URLs exclude query strings and fragments, and referral URLs are limited to the referring website's origin.

Analytics is off until you choose to allow it. You can decline and still use every tool. Use Analytics settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. We remember your choice on this browser for 180 days. Declining stops analytics collection and removes the website's Google Analytics cookies. The site does not enable advertising storage, Google signals, or advertising personalization. See Google's privacy policy.

The mobile app may use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand feature usage and Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix crashes. These services send Google app usage events, device and app information, installation identifiers, and crash diagnostics, depending on which services are enabled. See Firebase's privacy information.

The Android app has no advertising. Its Google ML Kit barcode scanner sends Google device and app information, installation identifiers, and scanner usage and performance metrics for diagnostics and service improvement. Camera images and barcode results stay on your device. See Google's ML Kit data disclosure and privacy policy.

When online Smart mapping is used, Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity verifies the app and device to prevent abuse. See Firebase's privacy information. Google Play handles any app reviews you choose to submit.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. This information is handled under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Links to other services

Some pages link to other websites, including the Mobile Inventory app. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave StockCounts.com.

Children

StockCounts is a business tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site or apps handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
